"iPhone + iPad" Build Greyed Out

I’ve never seen it become available, but I gotta say, I surely do wish it would.

I see *plenty* of apps in the store that are universal between iPhone and iPad and internally make the changes necessary to *look* just as good on either one.

Or is it more common to release for the iPhone and then also release a separate binary for the iPad? I know some folks have taken to calling their iPad releases “HD”.

At any rate, I surely would like the capability fixed so we can release a universal build rather than two separate ones. Or is there a decent method for doing that already?

Thanks,

We haven’t gotten a lot of requests for it. It increases your app size, and many people seem to be charging more for the HD version with upgraded graphics etc. [import]uid: 54 topic_id: 1324 reply_id: 3581[/import]

OH … So we have to feature request things which are already visible considered features!?

Add me to that request please!

P.S.: Cashing people for HD is still possible if you give us hybrid builds. [import]uid: 6928 topic_id: 1324 reply_id: 3585[/import]

We try to prioritize our work by incorporating feedback. In the iPhone+iPad button case, it’s easier to add it all at once and enable the functionality later. [import]uid: 54 topic_id: 1324 reply_id: 3588[/import]

I just wanted to say that people maybe did not put more weight on it… because they thought you have it “nearly done” because of that button. [import]uid: 6928 topic_id: 1324 reply_id: 3590[/import]

Indeed. For me (and given the recent bump in resolution of the newer iphones) I was planning to use the same graphics for both. I’ve found that a PNG at 576x768 (75% of 768x1024) is almost indistinguishable on the iPad. So planned on using that as my source and downsizing for the iPhone to whatever the resolution needs to be.

I can do it either way, of course. I just thought it would be a lot easier to have a universal than two different apps, one just compiled for the platform.

And I have to agree with Oder, I just kept waiting for it because it’s already there on my build page. Eventually, I ended up here.

If you’re not going to support it sometime soon, I’d pull it from your UI to avoid any confusion (and having folks thinking their system is misconfigured). [import]uid: 5659 topic_id: 1324 reply_id: 3603[/import]

I also saw the iPhone+iPad radio button on the build page and had it in the back of my mind that Corona would support an Universal app build. I think it should be removed or hidden if it’s not a working feature.

I would like to add my vote for the feature.

I would like to add my vote for it as a feature as well. I had thought that it was something that I was doing since it was grayed out. [import]uid: 7077 topic_id: 1324 reply_id: 4335[/import]
