Ipod 4Th Generation

A simple app I built could not be installed on ipod touch 4th generation ios 6.1.3. It is ok on the ipad and on the simulator. it is built for universal from corona(iphone + ipad). but Whenever i sync my ipod with itunes, this app will only load and then a message will pop up saying "‘AppName’ failed to install’.

Was wondering perhaps is there something I need to put in the build settings or config.lua? so I searched forums etc.e.g. http://forums.coronalabs.com/topic/29476-uirequireddevicecapabilitiesipod-etc-buildsettings/

I tried several times but the same problem still occurs.

Was wondering if it was a problem with hardware, since it had not been used for a long time. so I downloaded other new apps like candy crush. But those work ok!.

so please do suggest other things/methods that i should try to make this work. thanks alot!

@lynette2internet, are you trying to install a device build currently in development?  Are you using Developer or AdHoc certificate?  If so, you may not have included the iPod device to your provisioning profile.  Check your Apple Dev portal and see if your iPod device is registered and is permitted to install your app.

If that’s not the case, then I have no idea what might be causing it.

Hi Naomi, thanks for your reply and your reminder! I double checked again… while I registered the device, i didn;t tick it under the provisioning profile. Several hours of work boils down to a tick. But it’s workable now! yeahs! Thanks!

Btw, I am rather new to this, so i have another noob question…  I am using AdHoc. After one year, if I used all 100 devices, and if the next year I continue with the Apple Developer programme, can I use it on another set of 100 devices, or will the original 100 remain?

I’ve never registered 100 devices, and I’m no where near it, so I’m only going to guess.

If you think you’ll need another set of 100 after the first year, you may want to delete/remove these first set of 100 before your first year is over, then wait for the new cycle to start, and once it starts, add these 100 new devices.  At least, that’s probably what I would do, hoping to make sure that the first 100 doesn’t bleed over to the second year and block the new set of 100 from getting registered.  (I wonder if the cycle is based upon licensing cycle or calendar year cycle.)

There might be others who know more about it (especially people who work at major publishers with loads of devices, testers and other associates that would need to install their apps before the release.)  Who knows, but google search may come up with some good answer.
