Is 60fps Actually Feasible?

I’m just about to start a new project and I am trying to decide whether to go with Cocos2D or Corona.

I see that they’ve added a 60fps flag to Corona.

Do you think something similar to say, Canabalt, would actually be able to run at 60fps under Corona? Basically 4-5 layers of high-speed parallax scrolling with a decent amount of particle effects. Maybe 10-12 other sprites on screen (approx. 100x100 each).

What about on Android? Does it even support 60fps?
