Is Corona a good option for social games/apps (Thumb, Draw Something, etc)?

I’m about to start messing around with Corona and I just wanted to know if this would be a good choice to create a social app like Draw Something or Thumb? I’m not new to development but I’ve only made games before and not apps like the one’s I just mentioned.

Also a totally off topic question:
I noticed “Camera objects overlay (video, camera)” is under the forgotten ones on the roadmap. Does this mean the feature won’t ever be implemented? This would be an extremely important feature in a different app I was thinking about making so I’m just curious.

All help is appreciated  [import]uid: 151050 topic_id: 26646 reply_id: 326646[/import]

Hi Michael,

I can’t answer your question RE overlay as it isn’t my department, however even some forgotten roadmap items (some just aren’t feasible, others are but weren’t in high demand) could be remembered; make a post about that in the Feature Requests sub forum is my advice.

For your main question, yes - Corona is a perfectly suitable choice for this. I would say it is one of the best options because it speeds up development time as well.

Here’s an example of a recent app like Draw Something made with Corona; http://www.barnesandnoble.com/w/draw-guess-online-ninja-pig-studios/1110915394

Also regarding feature requests that seem like they are forgotten (trust me they aren’t  ) see this: http://blog.anscamobile.com/2012/05/corona-roadmap/ [import]uid: 84637 topic_id: 26646 reply_id: 108639[/import]
