Is Gettunervolume Working Now?

Hi, last year the GetTunerVolume api was always broken and gave false infos.

does it work fine now ?

I mean… whispering it gives a small value and blowing into the mic full and lots of

scales between… not as it was before… kind a 0 OR 10 and nothing between

thx

chris

so it there NO update at all about that.

why u dont remove it from the API… its just not working

and in the same time u develop mass of new features…

just a pitty that old stuff is not maintained.

Hi Chris,

Can you give an estimation of when this “worked” as you expected, in the past? I don’t think anything has changed regarding this API, but I’ll mention it to the engineers to confirm.

Thanks,

Brent

it never worked… thats the problem… but listed in the api as a function that should

give the volume that enters the mic of the device.

i have several apps on native iOS that do measure if someone speak loud or soft or blow in the mic.

i can measure in lets say 255 fine scales…

with the corona api… it shows me kind a … NO INput or Blown in… thats it…

it could be a fallen leaf that tells me blown in or screaming… no differenz… so not useable

Hi Chris,

I’m sure this is an obvious question, but are you following the usage pattern shown in the “SimpleTuner” sample app?

Brent

Thanks Brent,

did u ever installed the Simple Tuner app on a Device (for example iPhone) yourself and tested it?

It is just not working correct! (Since Ever)

The Frequency may work but the Voluma is just jumping around as I described.

An accurate measurement is impossible. It always show negative values.

Just compare with  native getvolume values from iOS/Android and u see what I mean.

If u look in the forum u find several guys who even did a case study with Charts and detailed describtion

about the Corona GetVolume Results and they say all the same…

if u like to develop an app like talking tom or anything that needs to work accuratly with the mic, its useless

See yourself the Demo and u will see not even the Demo VolumeBar does work :frowning:

Hello Corona people!

Hmm, any chance of getting an answer on this?

Hi Chris, @games4,

To be completely straightforward, we may end up deprecating this function and addressing it later, but unfortunately it’s not as high of a priority as several other features that developers have been asking for and requesting in Feedback. That being said, @games4, this could probably be handled at the native level as an Enterprise user.

I understand this may be a deal breaker of sorts, but I wanted to be clear and honest about its priority and status.

Best regards,

Brent
