Just getting up to speed on Corona. I know that the iPhone SDK 3.0 allows access to an ipod/iphone’s music library. Therefore you can incorporate songs, metadata of songs, etc into your app. Does Corona give us this same access?
I would like to see this feature so the user can use one of their tunes as background music while the app is running (think of a specialized photo slide show). It would be helpful if the music could be saved or accessed later without prompting the user to select the tune.
On a priority of 1 to 10, I would place 8.

I was unaware of a new beta, didn’t get an email on it. Where is it accessible?
Also on a related question to music/sounds, is there a way to have the users ipod library continue to play even with some event sounds? i’ve seen this in some apps. I thought that using playSound, it would deactivate the users music, but it looks like playEventSound does that too. Was hoping to eliminate background music from my app, and keep sounds in only so the user could continue to listen to their own thing. Thanks! [import]uid: 6317 topic_id: 1004 reply_id: 3131[/import]
Because the betas are now public, the notifications go out in the general Corona Newsletter, which includes both trial users and subscribers. It looks like you aren’t currently subscribed to that, would you like to be? [import]uid: 3007 topic_id: 1004 reply_id: 3132[/import]
Hi Evan. I never received an email notification of Beta 5 and I’ve received the Corona Newsletter in the past. I saw Beta 5 was available from the forum. The last newsletter I received was on June 4.

I also used to receive all the newsletters and emails on new betas. I would like to continue to get those notices, thanks! [import]uid: 6317 topic_id: 1004 reply_id: 3141[/import]
Since I’m new to Corona, I don’t really think I prioritize any feature over another just yet. That said, I have a concept for a new app and it requires access to the music library. Seeing as music is still a big part of the iphone/ipod – and plays a significant role in the business model of various apps – I think it’s a pretty important feature to include.
I have a project in mind that absolutely needs access to music library. Please give it priority on your roadmap. Thank you!! [import]uid: 6463 topic_id: 1004 reply_id: 3391[/import]
I hope that everybody who asks for access to the music knows what the limitations are with that! [import]uid: 6928 topic_id: 1004 reply_id: 3412[/import]
Basically you “remote control” a playlist and you can get metadata of what the user listens too currently. [import]uid: 6928 topic_id: 1004 reply_id: 3415[/import]
