Is it possible to set Android apps into "low profile mode", where the android butons are not illuminated?

A tester suggested that our game should switch to low profile mode as the android buttons are an unnecessary distraction.
Is it possible to change the “SYSTEM_UI_FLAG_LOW_PROFILE” on Android builds? If so, where would this be done (I’m guessing in build.settings).

Corona does not currently support this feature, but it’s on our feature request list. No ETA yet.
