Is providing a Developer Website Required for Admittance to the App Store?

Hi,

I’m planning the course I have to take to get my app into the app store, and one thing I’m not sure about concerns having a developer website. All the apps I’ve looked at on the app store provide one, and iTunes Connect also makes it seem like a requirement.

Would anyone who has dealt with this know:

  1. if it is a strict requirement to provide a developer website to Apple that will be displayed on the app store?

  2. if a developer website IS required, would a Facebook page dedicated to the app pass the requirement?

Right now, I’d rather not spend my time making a website, but if it is required, I would like to know. I appreciate any info that would help!

Thanks!

The answer to this is “Maybe”. If your app collects any data that’s remotely personal any where from names to device ID’s or IP addresses. You will want a privacy policy. You probably could technically add a tab to a facebook page that says what data you collect and how you use it. The stores just want a URL.

However there are marketing benefits to having a dedicated website for your app.
