Is the MapView still only for iOS or does it now work on Android as well? I remember that at one time it was iOS specific, but I can’t remember if it has been updated to run on Android. I remember seeing it on the RoadMap but not if it ever came out yet.
I just submitted an app to the Amazon store and it includes mapping which works well on that device.

Corona does support MapViews on Android and it works on all Android devices, including those that do not provide Google Maps such as the Kindle Fire and Nook. Have a look at sample project “Interface/MapView” that is included with the Corona SDK for an example on how to use it.
Nice!!! The documentation said otherwise, so thanks for clearing this up. I thought I saw the announcement a while back for map support in Android but the docs contradicted this.
Oh… I think Google linked you to our old documentation website which we’re in the middle of getting rid of. Here is a link to our current documentation for MapViews…

Our documentation for the release version of Corona (current build #1076) can be found here…

And our documentation for the newest daily build can be found here…
