Is there a way to have the info pane not be the same as the navigator?

Now when i select an image I get the info for the image. Really Handy.

The thing is the info is in the navigator pannel. When I return to my code it switches back to the code navigation.

Is there  a way to have a dedicated info window that just shows info for the selected files in the files window.

And jsut a s a side question, what is the difference between the files and the projects pane?

This is all v19

Thanks

Hello Juf,

At this time the Navigator pane simply displays information on whatever currently has focus. If it happens to be an image file, it will display that, if it is the source file, it displays the outline. The asset preview portion will get a rehaul soon with sound preview added in. If we do make it a separate window (apart from the navigator) the question is where to put it? Multi monitor setups would be ideal for this but on a single monitor things might get a bit tricky.

How about a step back. What problem are we really trying to solve? Do you want to quickly preview assets while coding? How about this solution:

what is the difference between the files and the projects pane?

If you use file aliases for instance you will see more things in the projects pane. In the future we may add more things like globals under each lua file node. In these cases you might just want to look at what is physically on the disk, thats what the file pane is for. The Files pane is a literal view, the projects pane is a more high level logical view.

I use the info on an image to see if it is actually the correct image file (version/color/etc) and the dimensions of the image file.

I can have bridge (adobe image viewer) open on my second screen, but it is just handier to have in the same software.

The location could just be a tab/panel, that can be placed where the user wants like your other panels.

Maybe even in the bottom window two windows next to each other.

Now the whole window width is used for the terminal output.

Hello Juf,

This feature will have to wait for when we redo the navigator pane. The new one will have sound and image file preview and will be in a separate window. In the meantime we can show a small 20x20 thumbnail in the autocomplete window along with the dimensions on the right hand side. Will this be helpful?

Here is what it will look like:

Hi,

That would be nice, but really not necessary. There are so many other things that are more important than adding extra little features.

I just wondered if it was possible or that I just missed an option.

Thanks for the replies.

Hello Juf,

Please get the 1.9.1 update via help-> check for updates. It will have the thumbnail and image size feature on the autocomplete window.
