issue with adhoc/distribution profiles?

Hello guys again.

Yet another issue in my journey to release an app (since I became an indie subscriber yesterday…quite a ride so far!) Anyway, I was plenty happy with my dev certificate/provisioning when i was a test driver…the good old days:) But now i am trying to setup my adhoc provisioning/distribution. The proccess went suprising well but i think i still managed to messy up.

Before, I was able to build an app (dev certificate/provision…since I was a driver) and upload to my device with no issues. I also (important here) was able to upload apps with the same name that one on device (it will simply ask me if I want to overwrite and I say yes) BUT now, if I try to upload a same name app, it asked me if want to overide and everything looks ok (it upload the app to the device) but then i tried to start it exit right away? It EVEN happens when I change the name of the app (at build time)?! It almost like it is reference the app itself not the app name…

If i delete the app on the device (same app but even different name) then it seems to work ok and i can play the game. This is very confusing and i am sorry if I am not explaining it correctly. I tried to start from scratch (deleting all my certificate/provisioning) but the same issue happens.

I am sure there is something really wrong in the way I am setting the certification/provisioning process. I will try to do it couple more times and see.

Any suggestions will be greatly welcomed! I will think that an app with a different name would not cause an app already on the device to crash at start. At least that is not what it was doing before I started this crazy dance of setting up adhoc and distribution profiles:(

THANKS!

How are you adding the app? Via Xcode or via iTunes?

Keep in mind you can still use dev builds if you want for device testing, you don’t have to use AdHoc if you don’t want to.

I always use AdHoc/Dist but always via Xcode and haven’t had these issues myself, though others may have more insight.
