I just noticed some changes in the new iTunes Connect portal regarding the categories for apps. Apple lists ‘examples’ from the game category like: Action, adventure, arcade, card & board, fighter, family, music & rhythm, platformer, puzzle, racing, role playing, shooter, simulation, social, sports, strategy
I’m not sure if this are really ‘examples’ for possible apps you can upload there, or for new subcategories maybe!?
Looking at the categories of actual apps in the store, iTunes only lists ONE subcategory for a game app and not two like you can choose when uploading an app (BTW: You still can choose two subcategories). Does anyone have information about if Apple maybe will change from two subcategories in Games to one subcategory only?
I mean: This totally would make sense if they want to ‘clean up’ their store with the release of iOS8.
