iTunes Connect: Processing stopped for build an app.

It’s not about using xcode8.

Apple still allows apps built using xcode 6 and above.

HI kystian6,

Since Wednesday of this week, have you successfully uploaded anything to iTunes Connect using Xcode 7.3.1 without getting an email 10 minutes later telling you that processing of the file has stopped? See messages above from others.

As you can see, this person is having the same problem with no mention of being a Corona developer.

http://stackoverflow.com/questions/39394138/itunesconnect-processing-stopped-for-app-submitted-to-testflight

Is anyone successfully creating a Corona build “presently” that the iTunes Connect store will process without stopping?

I think we have to wait and hope that it will be resolved in few days =)

I have been trying for almost 24 hours (about 11 attempts with all variants of changes) and no luck. I finally stumbled across this post and glad I did, my forehead was beginning to hurt from the wall slams!

I’m building with Corona enterprise directly from Xcode and have tried submitting both ways, Application Loader, and directly from Xcode.

Each submit results with the “…If your app contains bitcode, bitcode processing may have failed. Because of these errors, this build of your app will not be able to be submitted for review or placed on the App Store. For information that may help resolve this issue, see Tech Note 2432.” error about 5 minutes later, and the build has a red flag on it through the developers console. My bitcode IS disabled in Xcode as well.

Waiting with coffee…

Hey,

I’m not saying I was able to, just saying that there’s no xcode8 requirement.

I assume Apple screwed something up and they are deciding how to come out of this saying that it’s developers fault.

Just wait and see, no reason to get angry over something we have no control.

Sorry I can’t come up with anything else.

There’s quite some people on their forums with same issue.

Having the same “While processing your iOS app, XXXX, errors occurred in the app thinning process, and your app couldn’t be thinned.” problem, using Corona sdk 2906.

Would like to publish my game asap for my client. Please let me know if anyone has a solution!

At this point, I don’t know that we need more reports of this happening. It’s clearly an issue on the Apple side. It’s effected just about every developer of every framework including native developers.

Apple is being bombarded by complaints so hopefully they will get a fix out soon for this. Upgrading to Xcode 8 is not going to solve the problem since Corona is still based on iOS 9.3. It’s probably going to create more issues than it helps (later versions of the simulator support iOS 10 beta so you can test apps locally and you would need Xcode 8 for that) but for release purposes you need to stay with Xcode 7 until we turn on the non-Beta iOS 10.

Our engineers are looking at a work around but no promises it will pan out.

Rob

Thank you, Rob. And to everyone else, too.

Thanks @Rob. Can confirm it is happening on our Enterprise apps and normal apps. All mixed configurations. Something changed on Apple’s servers.

Hello @Rob, please feel free to delete this post - https://forums.coronalabs.com/topic/65456-an-error-importing-this-build-for-itunes-connect/. I didn’t find this thread until after I did deeper searching.

Is there a way to disable bitcode so we can submit our apps?

Look further in this string - I remember seeing a post from someone using Corona Enterprise, using Xcode and turning OFF bitcode. It didn’t fix the problem.

Today, the Apple Developer Support team took on our case #100018694114 and asked me to provide the iTunes connect email and my  IPA file that stopped processing.

This tells me that Apple’s support engineers had not yet connected with the proper developers by the end-of-day today. I can only hope that CoronaLabs is ahead of us on this and that the Apple support department is so large that it will take them a couple of days to consolidate numerous support requests.

My point here is that we should never assume that others have reported such an error.

Bitcode is disabled for all Corona built applications.

(Rebuilding Corona engine with it enabled doesn’t change the situation, unfortunatelly)

Investigation continues.

@troylyndon, I’m the enterprise user that explicitly turned off bitcode so the app thinning would hopefully continue. Just reiterating here that it didn’t work and as Rob has indicated - it’s not just Corona users but spread throughout several platforms.

A post went up today on ADM’s website https://appdevelopermagazine.com/4390/2016/9/9/Developers-Experiencing-Apple-App-Store-Upload-Trouble-With-App-Thinning:-Tech-Note-2432/ and we reached out to Apple ourselves for comment but no word back just yet.

@thatssopanda We always send our builds without bitcode, and they all got this error since 2 days ago.

Just curious, how many people have filed this as a bug with Apple?

Aye! - Filed two days ago now through the apple developer portal.
