Itunes Connect

In filling out the fields to add my first app to Itunes Connect, it requires a support url. I do not have a web site as of yet, and want to be able to support the app thru my facebook page. There is nothing to indicate that I can do that, so rather then get it rejected, I thought I would ask if anyone knows if there is any alternative support site, other then a dedicated web site, that a developer can enter in this field and not get rejected by apple?

There are several sites that let you create one pagers for your app. There are sites like wix.com where you can setup a free website. You could also create a wordpress blog at wordpress.com or even a tumblr blog and use it. Basically Apple wants people who have problems with your app to be able to get in touch with you. You probably could even use a wufoo form to set up a contact us email form that would suffice Apple’s requirements.

Thanks Rob. Good to know. But, I set up a wordpress blog, and unless I get a domain, I don’t see a way to add contact email link or such. It does not appear there is an email setup, under the free version of wordpress, so how is a user to contact me thru the wordpress site? Are you at all familiar with that? I typically use the self-hosted version of wordpress, and I’ve only messed around with wordpress.com a little. At a minimum you could just create a page with a URL:

<a href="mailto:youremail@youraddress.com">Click to email support</a>

if you can’t setup a form. You could also combine it with a Wufoo form. They would provide you some embed code you could drop into a wordpress page. This would probably be a more elegant solution.

Thanks Rob … but not having much luck. I may have to try something other then wordpress.com First it recommends not having email links as they get spammed a lot. Secondly there is no way to add html link to a page as far as I can see. Thirdly, they recommend creating a ‘contact form’, but there is no menu option/drop down or any other tool anywhere in the dashboard/general info admin areas to do such a thing. Examples on the internet indicate you can add a plugin that will give you this option, but then that is not true either. Apparently there is some confusion between wordpres.com and wordpress.org …It looks like I am going to just enter the link to my email on the page as text (no hyperlink) and at least that is something. I will have in my app, a direct email support for the user that they can email me at, so I am hoping that will be enough for apple to approve.

Thanks for taking the time to help.

Could you weigh in on another question I posted on the forum earlier, about, how I can have my users link direct to my Facebook to ‘post their scores’. Jon Beebe had a tutorial that seems very good, but he says I need to host some php script on a web service, and my question is there anyway around this, so I do not need to use the web service? If I do need to store that php script on a web service server, which would you recommend.

Providing wordpress support is a bit beyond the scope for us. There should be tons of information and forums (and consider StackOverflow.com too) to ask and find out how to set up a contact us page.
