iTunes Link

I need to know my apps iTunes Link before I submit it to the appstore. I need it to integrate Facebook posting, And I want on the Facebook post to be a link to download the app. [import]uid: 130035 topic_id: 22521 reply_id: 322521[/import]

From what I know you can’t get a link for an app that hasn’t been submitted/approved. If you’re updating that’s another story.

You can still however promote your app on Facebook, I suggest either building a simple website/page with the screenshots from your game… or simply upload pictures to your Facebook wall advising others that once the game is released you’ll provide a link. I’m pretty sure you can… Go to iTunes Connect, go to manage, select your app, and the link to c/p should be right at the top under Links: “View in iTunes”. [import]uid: 87138 topic_id: 22521 reply_id: 89794[/import]

Hey guys,

You CAN get a link for an app provided you have made a page for it in iTunes Connect - the link just wont go to a working page until approval.

If you have the app in iTC then when you click on it there you can see the link  (It’s in the upper screen, middle of the page, if I recall correctly.)

Hah, yes you can I stand corrected… but the link is dead, so what’s the use for it other than having it for once the app is released.

IMO … If you start advertising your game using a dead link it might confuse people and you might get a whole bunch of “link doesn’t work” msgs. [import]uid: 10379 topic_id: 22521 reply_id: 89798[/import]

Revaerie beat me to it - that will teach me to have so many tabs open  [import]uid: 52491 topic_id: 22521 reply_id: 89799[/import]

Thanks guys! that helped a lot! I haven’t uploaded any apps to iTC so idk how it works.

So heres what I understood so far:
So first I need to “register” the app in iTC.
Then I can get all the numbers need to finish my app (app Id, iTunes link etc.)
Then after My app is completely done I could Build it via Distribution Prov. Profile and upload it to iTC.
Then in like two ekes apple is going to approve it, and I will be able to make it live in the app store.

Is that correct?

Oh, and when registering an app it asks for the “app release date”. What do I put into that field? I mean I don’t know how fast apple is going to approve it, so I don’t know the specific release date.

Thanks! [import]uid: 130035 topic_id: 22521 reply_id: 89812[/import]

Check out this link by Peach… even though it may seem long at first it is actually quite simple… kind of like riding a bike :stuck_out_tongue:

As far as App/Game name… try to do some research to see if your name is taken if it isn’t… Add the game/name to the iTC to somewhat reserve it. Date for me didn’t really make a difference, I don’t have a lot of projects floating around so I usually research and take the name (add/reg the app) and then do the artwork.

I know of few people who developed a game without researching, and found themselves redoing whole bunch of artwork because of an unavailable name. [import]uid: 10379 topic_id: 22521 reply_id: 89817[/import]

For release date you can leave it as it’s set originally, if it’s before the date it is submitted and approved it will automatically be released immediately.

@nemensiris - don’t you tell me what to do, you aren’t my boss! :wink: [import]uid: 52491 topic_id: 22521 reply_id: 89837[/import]
