Hi There,
I am having a little crisis… it looks like that my analytics for both Google and Facebook show that I have significantly more IAPs than what is being reported in iTunes Connect. This has been happening for the past 2 weeks, so I don’t think it is a lag issue anymore. The numbers are also too significant to be issues with differences in reporting time zones. Like iTunes is sometimes showing 30 - 50% less IAPs with a fairly consistent per hour number of IAPs…
I put a line of code to track the success event of an IAP, and I believe the facebook api has its own independent code for doing this, so I don’t know where this discrepancy could be. Also, in my analytics its not like I have duplicate orders, I can see they all take place at different times from different countries.
I called Apple and they said that it could be because people are illegally purchasing he IAPs and that I need to implement receipt validation before they can even take a look this being an issue on their end.
I tried looking up how to do this with Corona but pretty much only found a post that said that such a small amount of phones are jail broken so don’t worry about it… then another post with a broken link to exactly what I think I am looking for.
Does anyone have any knowledge on how to implement the receipt validation or know anything about the discrepancy that I am seeing?
This is pretty urgent as my advertising budget needs to basically be drastically cut if I am making half as much as I think I am off of the app…
Thanks
-Sam
