iTunesArtwork.png and iTunesArtwork@2x.png in the plist (build file)?

I have all the icons done and am wondering what to do with the required large app icons for the Apple store:

See my next post below:

From Apple:

"

For the App Store, create a large version of your app icon in two sizes so that it looks good on all devices:

1024 x 1024 pixels

512 x 512 pixels (standard resolution)

Be sure to name this version of your app icon iTunesArtwork@2x and iTunesArtwork, respectively.

".

Please confirm what to do with these two required apple graphics.  Below is what I found so far:

1.  The 1024x1024 named iTunesArtwork@2x (png ,without extension).  It is uploaded at app submission time using iTunes Connect.  I will also place this in my project folder ‘just in case it’s needed there’?  I am NOT going to include this in the pList.

2.  The 512x512 graphic 1) Is NOT included in the pList and 2) has to be named “iTunesArtwork” (png ,without extension).  3) Place the 512x512 file in the root of the project folder.

Does this all sound correct??

Proper Icons on the Device -  The easy - cheating way I do it.

If you open Corona and Create a new project. Give it some Temp folder name that you can use for this little project.

When you create project it will have man icons in there.

They are Sized and Named how you need to name them and size them for IOS and android.

Just replace them.

IOS Upload:

Now when go to upload image of your application to the IOS app store it has several images that it will require for all device sizes.

IPOINE 3 - 4 - 5

IPAD - 1 - 2 - 3

I think the 512x512 image is for the app ICON in the main part of the store.

All your other Large screen shots - you can archive after you upload the images to the app store.

you dont include them in you app. They will just waste space are wont be used for anything.

Hopefully I did not confuse you like I have myself with this post.

Good luck

Larry

The 1024x1024 Icon is uploaded to iTunes Connect when you set your app up.  For apps to be released via the App Store, you don’t need to do any thing more.  If you’re building for Amazon, Google and others, they tend to want a 512x512 that you will upload to them when you setup your app.

Now if you’re building an app that you intend to distribute outside the app store (like to your own employees, known as AdHoc) then you add a 1024x1024 ping named ITunesArtwork (with no .png) in the top level folder.  I have no idea where this is used, but if you’re going to have your app in the app store, then you do not need this.

They (iTunesArtwork & iTunesArtwork@2x) are used as an icons in iTunes. Without them, the app has no icon.
