I've had enough >=|

I really wish apple would go with the same approach google has and make app uploads simple. I’ve spent the past 5 hours trying to figure out how to update one of my apps and I can’t figure it out. I watched a 22 minute youtube video on how to do it and for some reason buttons that were in the video aren’t there for me. I can upload and have an app live in 10 minutes tops 15 if I have to setup in app purchases. I like the added revenue of having my apps on both devices but I’m starting to wonder if it’s worth the headache. =/

Does anyone know if it’s possible to pay someone to upload the apps under my account? I would much rather go that route if it’s possible with their certificates and what not.

Thanks

just ask what is not clear to you, since the process is the quite the same as the initial submission.

To be honest I’m surprised I was even able to get the first app submitted lol. The issue I’m having is inside iTunes connect and click on my app details there is no upload binary button in the top right. I think it’s because the app is already live so I don’t need to upload a binary I just need to update the current one. Not sure if that’s the reason or not though.

well, first you need to add a new version to the app :slight_smile:

first manage your apps, then select the app you want to update, then at bottom is the tab “Versions”. press on new version, enter the stuff asked and there you go :slight_smile:

That makes sense I suppose. I have to add the version, then upload it? I’m so used to android where you upload the app and it updates the version for you.

yes, that’s what you need to do. and for the new version, you can also change descriptions, add iap, whatsoever. so its actually quite the same as initial upload. just be careful when you submit new leaderboards, iap etc. As i remember, you need to tick them to get submitted with the update.

hope that helps?

Thanks for helping me out. I had to take a breather and come back to it with a clear mind. I was so furious last night. I went back to it this morning and it was really quite simple. Once I added the new version number the button showed up and the rest was just like the initial upload.

No I have to redo the whole process with a new app so hopefully it will go a lot smoother this time around.

I agree, when it comes to the developer portals Android > iTunes

you are very welcome! it happens to all of us :slight_smile:
