jerky scroll - sample app ListView2, smooth scroll WidgetDemo

Can anyone tell me why these 2 sample apps appear to perform differently?

WidgetDemo > Home has a lovely smooth scroll

ListView2 has a jerky scroll that looks nasty

Why is this?

I’m testing on iPad2 and iPhone 4s
