I save a variable LUA on my web server using SQL.
The problem is that I find just no reference point to start it.
What I really want is to send the score to an external database.

The link below is a good blog post to start if your server runs php. It has more features then need for your use (facebook integration). But, it also has sending a network request to write to server side db. Look especially at the (sendscore/index.php).
