Kindle Fire and Nook Color

Hi,

Before i bought my iOS subscription for Corona, i was able to build my apps and put them on the device, with a reminder at startup that it was a trial.

Now i have an iOS subscription, and wanted to try to view/build my games on the Nook Color and Kindle Fire, but if i want want to simulate those devices, it asks me to upgrade?

For iOs as a trial user you can at least simulate, why not for Kindle Fire and Nook Color?

I’m just beginning to shift to a non-iOS mindset myself, so I haven’t run into this. If that’s the case it would be quite a mistake on Ansca’s part.

The entire advantage to picking up Corona over the others is being able to build, simulate, and test on any of the platforms and then choosing to buy when you’ve finished your first app and want to publish it. To go against that business model now of all times just wouldn’t make sense to me.

EDIT: I decided to try this myself and I was able to build for the Kindle Fire, but the simulator skin is locked. That makes no sense at all, it must be a bug. Have you tried using 715? (I can’t go past 706 since I’m unwilling to drop support for iOS 4.1 right now)

I didnt try build for Fire or Nook yet, need to install jave SDK or something, but it would be strange being able to build (trial), but not simulate.

I was just reading this in Daily build 2011.704:

Mac/Windows: Now allows Indie and Trial users to use all devices skins except Nook Color and Kindle Fire.

So you can build for device on Fire/Nook, but not simulate.

As d3mac123 said, it’s just a skin.

Trial and Indie users can’t use the NOOK or the Kindle Fire skins at the present time, no.

These are “Pro” devices.
