Hello,

Some few doubts/curiosities:

  1. Compared to the conventional Android builds, are the changes in the Kindle Fire builds in the manifest file or they go beyond?

  2. Can we apply the Kindle Fire builds on Google Android Market?

Here are some answers to your questions…

  1. The binary is compiled differently. Also, we plan on compiling against the Google API library for normal Android builds which allows for Google Maps support, but we do NOT plan on doing so for Kindle Fire builds because that device will refuse apps built against the Google API.

  2. Yes, you can submit Kindle Fire built apps to Google Android Market, but that wasn’t the intent. The Kindle Fire build has more restrictions in order to support the Kindle Fire device and pass Amazon’s submission process. The generic Android build will likely have more features compared to the Kindle Fire build in the future.
