I hope this information helps someone else avoid the 2 days of frustration I just endured. My latest app (TKO Tiles) was recently approved with Amazon. My screenshots (nice, crisp, 600x1024 jpgs) looked great on Amazon.com but they were very fuzzy when viewing the screenshots on the Kindle Fire (2nd gen) through the Store. (BTW - the game itself looks great even on the 2nd gen, so I knew the device wasn’t the problem.) I contacted tech support about this and they suggested I try screenshots with a higher resolution.
Well, I had already tried that (800x1280) and to no avail - still fuzzy. However, they did provide some information that helped me resolve the problem. Evidently, 480x800 screenshots are not automatically resized when viewing in the Store as the larger images are. Downgrade my screenshots to 480x800? I figured it was worth a shot.
I resubmitted my screenshots in 480x800 and after a couple of hours for them to post up to the servers, lo and behold, it fixed the problem. No more fuzzy screenshots.
If there are better solutions to this problem that will allow the larger screenshots I’d love to hear them, but for now I’m pleased with the results.
