Kiwik 2 can create 2D platform game

Kiwik 2 can create 2D platform games or are there better tools [import]uid: 93421 topic_id: 32905 reply_id: 332905[/import]

I don’t know if Kwik can do that, don’t think so really. But the best tool for a 2D platform right now is probably Lime [import]uid: 53195 topic_id: 32905 reply_id: 130764[/import]

Yes, Kwik can create full 2D games. Check the Showcase at www.kwiksher.com for some examples (take also a look at the Learn Kwik 2 page for some tutorials on creating games).

Best tool for 2D platform games is definitely Kwik + Corona. I’ve created a kids dress up game purely using Kwik (no coding necessary from my behalf). You can check out a free lite version of it over at https://itunes.apple.com/bw/app/dress-up-funhouse-lite/id633261794?mt=8

In the beginning I created this game as a test run (prior to a hidden object app) to see if a game could be created with Kwik. Much to my surprise I didn’t need to code any of it myself! I’ve now started on an adventure/hidden object game which will be similar in genre to well known Fire Maple Games. So far creating it with a Kwik has been a breeze! I’d definitely recommend it to other game developers.

I’ll be talking more about the progress of our adventure game as we create it over on our facebook page for anyone interested in this genre: http://www.facebook.com/HypergurlGames

Have a great day!

Tanya.

“Best tool for 2D platform games” – I think the OP was probably talking about the platformer genre (Mario type games). In which case, something like MTE or Lime or Corona Tiled is probably the best bet.

Kwik might be great for other 2D-type games, but (unless I’m missing something) probably not platformers.
