Last Build - 2011.688 - Kindle Fire?

Hi,

i have read the Blog post about Kindle Fire …
But i can’T see it in the last Build…

Or have i misunderstood something!? :-))

  • No Kindle Fire Simulator
  • Nothing new in the Android Build ( Just the 2 new Version Input - Fields )

Thx!

There is no mention of Kindle Fire in the simulator but if you build for Android 2.2 and Samsung Galaxy Tab it will work fine.

I have built my app for the Fire with build 688 and it works fine except, it shows the Trial Version popup on the device even though I’m a subscriber. The same apk doesn’t show the popup on other Android devices (Droid and Galaxy Tab 10.1) but the Kindle Fire is the device I’m most interested in. Other than that bug the game looks great on the Fire.

I have a ticket in to support about the issue but I haven’t received an answer yet. [import]uid: 11540 topic_id: 17912 reply_id: 68399[/import]

I think this will be fixed with the next build!

Nice to know that it works!

Looks like in today’s daily build there is an option to build for Fire but it actually makes the app not function on the Kindle! Also, now if I try to build for Android like I could yesterday the app won’t run on the Fire either.

No matter how it’s built the app now shows a black screen with a popup that says the app wasn’t build for this device.

If I launch debugger from terminal, select project and type run the simulator just sits there and I have to force quit it on OS X Lion.

If I launch from Textmate using command + R debugger works fine and launches the project. [import]uid: 7501 topic_id: 17912 reply_id: 68577[/import]

This doesn’t sound good :-/
I have no device to test it…
@bpollet --> Have you used the last build? 2011.689?
@sixftview --> that issue is not on Snow Leopard

Yes 2011.689 will show a pop-up that says “This app was not built for this device” and the screen is blacked out, even when you choose the new Kindle Fire Build option. ( It also does this with the Android build option )

2011.688 will run the game fine on the Kindle using the Android build option but it shows a popup that I’m using the trial version.

Hopefully 2011.690 can get it straightened out. [import]uid: 11540 topic_id: 17912 reply_id: 68600[/import]

… i think i need to buy the device …
I hope so too… it is hard to submit the app to amazon app-store without testing on the real device…
