LaunchScreen in XCode 8.3.2 crashes computer

When I select LaunchImage.xcdatamodeld, my Mac literally crashes and requires a reboot. No other XCode project I have causes this to occur. I’m trying to change the background color and sometimes it will function fine for a minute or two, but then it crashes - so you really must thoroughly check it. But the crash happens often enough that it is reproducible. I’m not sure what needs to be changed.

I’ve never even seen a file named “LaunchImage.xcdatamodeld”. Where do you find this?
