Level Editor

Getting Started Newbie Questions

Hi,

This has probably been posted a million times before… but I’m after a level editor :slight_smile:

Ideally I want it to create levels for the iOS, android and whatever else corona wants to add to the mix :slight_smile:

I’m tied between Lime and Level Helper and don’t really see any other options between those two, so if you have experience with them I would love to get your opinions.

Lime and Level Helper are both are excellent tools and both developers (Graham and Bogdan respectively) are very helpful with their users - you’ll be happy with either choice, I believe.

That said I hope you get some other answers from people who have a preference between the two; I just thought I’d voice my support for both :wink:

@Danny Yes I was interested in the level editor Corona is making, but coming soon is always a turn off for me as I want it now :stuck_out_tongue:

I was looking at Lime, but no video tutorial on it… wanted to see how easy it was to make anything.

Level Helper looked good, but I only saw tutorials on it which involved Coco2D and as I haven’t made anything with Corona before (hence test driver status) wasn’t sure how easy it would be to make for it… also I wasn’t sure if I went with Level Helper that the files it made would be suitable for the android and nook (as if I’m going to buy Corona I might as well get all markets from it :slight_smile: )

@Peach also my first game will be made from your dash example (hopefully a bit more complicated :)) its very useful!

I found this… its not for Corona, but it popped up after Level Helper finished and looked really nice :slight_smile:

Hey Dan - happy to hear that, thank you :slight_smile: (Indeed, the template is quite simple, I wanted something people could easily follow and modify.)

That editor looks pretty cool, a shame there isn’t a Corona version. Maybe one day!
