Live apps with cancelled Corona PRO subscription

What happens to apps that are live in the stores, after the first year, when a Corona Pro subscription would be cancelled?

Do the In-App-Purchases stop to work for example? Or is the app deactivated completely? Does it throw errors? Are there any experiences with that behaviour?

Also I don’t understand, if I just want to publish one app with Corona Pro, why do I have to buy a subscription for a whole year?

Thanks in advance,

Richard

Your apps will stay for sell in the marketplace.  You can publish with the free version unless you want to add revenue generating features.

What you are paying a yearly subscription for is the development software.  It’s a model known as “software as a service” and is actually fairly cost effective in regards to the tools.  The platform is constantly developed and updated over the year, so it’s different than your regular yearly upgrades.

If you create and publish an app with even a little bit of pulse, you should be able to cover the cost of the subscription.  If you are doing a client job, you should be able to bill more than the yearly cost of Corona, even for a basic app.  If you have an idea that you want to try and get some funding for, use the free version of Corona to get your app in a show-able form and shop it around.

Hope that helps.

Best.

A new tier was just introduced that may be a better fit.
