Locking Video to landscapeRight on Android

Hi,

I’ve been searching through the forums for much of the day and because much of what I have found has been in flux for some stretch of time, I wanted to get in here directly for confirmation: Is there any way, currently, to lock the orientation of a video on Android devices?

What I’ve read suggests that it is currently not possible, but if anyone knows otherwise or has a work-around, it would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Not anymore. At one point Android used to display the video view with the same orientation settings as the Corona app. That is, if your app was locked to landscape, then the video view would be locked to landscape. But this behavior did not match the iOS implementation where the video view would support all orientations regardless of how the app was set up, so by the last release version, we changed Android to match.

That said, we did write up a feature request that would allow you to control what orientations the video view would support. It’s low priority right now, so I wouldn’t expect this to happen by the next release. [import]uid: 32256 topic_id: 22504 reply_id: 89707[/import]
