Looking for a volunteer developer for a LGBT Non-Profit Organization

Hi,

I’ve been supporting the Twin Cities Pride organization for the last 2 years in developing and publishing a mobile festival app for them on a pro bono / volunteering basis.

This app provides the following information to its users :

  • Vendor / exhibitor booths on festival - info about the booth, map (png image file) location, contact info etc.
  • Multi-Stage music / entertainment schedule - info about performers, schedule etc.
  • Parade - Info about the floats
  • Direct access to festival grounds map for browsing
  • Information Page - Listing of info elements released by TC Pride organization - ie safety, access, promotions etc.

The app has its peak usage during a weekend each summer but gets regular use by the TC Pride team and others as a reference tool throughout the year as well.

The mobile app maintains a local copy of the data but checks in with a web based database (Coronium based mySQL) and downloads any new or updated information released by the festival organizers.

Coronium based mySQL contains the festival data and in order to provide web access to the same data for the festival organizers I also have a web application (PHP) hosted on my server. This is a nutshell is a great example for a typical enterprise app tying a web based frontend to a common and shared web based database which then extends to mobile apps (IOS + Android).

I have recently started a new job and my visa class forbids me from engaging in any secondary work, even for charitable volunteering purposes. Its crazy but I have to stop supporting this amazing organization and naturally they don’t have many Corona SDK experts with added mySQL + PHP skills readily available at short notice.

I am willing to turn over my code, 2 years worth of IP for free to someone from this community who has the skills and interest to take this on as a continuation of my volunteering effort. The code base is a great learning opportunity for someone interested in building web/db/mobile type business solutions and thats your instant takeaway. The web application PHP, Coronium setup as well as the Corona SDK app source will all be made available to whoever steps up to this challenge.

However, there needs to be some commitment in terms of getting involved in this for more than the worth of the code. In other words, if the cause speaks to you and if you’re interested in supporting this fine organization please let me know. I am hoping that whoever takes over from me will run this for at least a year if not more. I have no way of enforcing this point of course so there will need to be some degree of trust involved on my part. Your past track record on and off this forum will help me determine whether or not we can make this work.

So if you’re interested, please let me know and we’ll take it from there.

Thank you very much for your interest and support. Wishing you all the very best in 2015.

Regards,

Kerem
