Hey Guys,
It’s been about 3 months since I started playing around with Corona and so far I’m loving it.
I’ve been making games since the 80s in assembler on the Apple II and even spent a short time working at a game company in the 90s before leaving to start an internet business.
After ten years, I was craving to get back into my first hobby of game programming. I tried the cocos2d framework and objective C, but something about lua and Corona felt right.
It just feels more natural for my programming approach. I’m able to work so fast in it that I’m about 95% done my first game and will be submitting it to the app store and the google play store soon.
I’m also eagerly awaiting the new graphics engine. The size of arenas I can put in my game is limited only by how many sprites the current engine can have on screen at once without dropping below 30fps.
I chose Corona for the speed of development with it and I’m hoping the new engine will eliminate any minor doubts I have about its graphics performance.
Happy coding to everyone!
