Lua Glider on Macbook Air Issues

I am having all kinds of issues using Lua Glider.  Any help would be wonderful - Reinstalled a number of times, tried all the different scanning options in the preferences, upped the RAM available in the luaglider2.conf file, reset the database…

Main issues are:

  1. On Startup it appears to start scanning my drive and never comes back.   Just freezes and then I have to hard kill it.

  2. When change it to scan stubs only and up the RAM in luaglider2.conf, it starts up and allows me to open a project, however when I open a file it does not display any of the contents.  No filename in the tab bar, no code - just a completely empty tab. i can run the project and debug, just not change any of the file contents.

Please help - I really liked the application for the 2 hours I was able to us it and actually debug (what a concept!!) lua projects for one glorious afternoon, but ever since then it just wont start up.  Please let me know what I can provide to help you all help me… thank you in advance!!!

hello sastern,

Sorry about the trouble you are having. Please upload logs via help-> upload logs. If you are running windows you may want to try running as administrator at least once. If this is the problem then you can get around it by installing Glider in a folder which you have write access.

Next you can delete your user directory by going to help-> user directory and deleting its contents. Glider should be able to start again, we will inspect the logs and will try to fix this problem. We have a few leads to a fix.

Thank you for your help - I can’t get through uploading the logs, the application freezes in the middle of the process.  After attempting this twice, I tried to view the files instead and just saved them locally.  Let me know where to email them and I can send them directly to you.   I also then deleted the contents of my user directory and restarted.  Everything worked well from there, but immediately when I attempt to access any part of the settings (even just opening it and hitting cancel) causes the application to enter frozen state.  THanks!

But after clearing the User data, changing the permissions on the /Users/MyUsername/Library/Application Support/luaglider2/dev folder to give “Everyone” read/write access rather than read, Force Closing, then restarting… I’m able to import projects and load files!   I haven’t attempted to touch any settings and I am able run things as expected, run, debug, etc!

The next frozen app was when attempting to access the the “Value” elipsis from the variables tab on a Function. Is there something fundamental that I’m attempting to do that’s invalid?  So I’m stuck again…

Running into the same issue on my Macbook Air too. Uploaded the logs. After clearing the user directory things seem to working fine.

@janaki,

We’re glad everything is working now. Thanks for letting us know.

@sastern,

Sorry that you’re having issues. We can’t seem to replicate this problem but it would really help us if you could send us a screenshot showing the freezing issue. Please send it to mydevelopergames@gmail.com
