Lua Installation

Sorry for the Noob question.

Does the Corona SDK installation, also load the Lua language files somewhere on the system ?

I’ve had a good look around my system, and can not find the Lua language folder, I’m on Mac OSX.
I only ask, as it would also be nice to practice learning Lua from the Terminal, as well as the Corona SDK.

I don’t believe you get a command line Lua with it. I’ve had to install Lua as a separate installation to be able to use it as a separate product.

Lua is built into the latest version of Corona Project Manager (http://CoronaProjectManager.com) – after installing go to Tools > Plug-Ins > Lua Scratchpad to open it.

No save/load stuff, whatever you type there stays until you delete it. Even if you close the tab and reopen.

The scratchpad is available in both the free and paid version, so you can use it for $0.

I find myself using the scratchpad all the time just to try out a chunk or two of Lua.

Thanks for the repies Rob and Jay.

Yes I to have also installed Lua as a seperate installation now, it does seem that the Lua binaries
are built into Corona SDK.

Thanks for the tip, I will be trying out the Corona Project Manager app.
