Mac Mini 2GB

I have a Mac Mini 2GB. Will only be running Corona, maybe some paint or shotoshop program, Xcode and I don’t imagine anything else. Not really doing 3d type graphics as corona does not support that… Will the 2GB be plenty, or is that pushing it, even with so few programs running on it? I do see where ios Lion uses almost 1gb of the 2.

Is there anyone else using mac or mac mini and lion with only 2gb and doing okay with it?

Corona itself doesn’t take very much memory. However, you have already seen that Lion does eat up a lot. Most of the web browsers eat up a lot more. I manage to suck up 2GB with Safari and another 2GB with Xcode. Then with everything else I do, I deplete the remaining amount of RAM on my 8GB machine.

I say give it a try and see what happens since you already have the machine. It’s not like you are buying a machine. Also, RAM is pretty cheap. (I think 8GB cost $25 during the last Black Friday.)

Good to know. I think I will go with the 8gb upgrade. The PC/Windows has a great free tool paint.net, is there something similar (free or fairly cheap) on the mac, that you could recommend?
