When I first started using Corona, I was using the 2010 White Macbook for a while and it was more than sufficient for coding/testing apps with Corona, so the Macbook Air should definitely be fine.
I would definitely go with the RAM upgrade to 4GB though… [import]uid: 52430 topic_id: 9068 reply_id: 33040[/import]
I have the 2.1 ghz, 256 solid state drive, and 4gb DDR3 SDRAM and it runs beautiful! Im not just talking about corona and text mate. I also run photoshop and illustrator side by side with corona while browsing the internet (API’s that is) and listening to music without a single lag.
If possible def go for the 4GB ram, it will greatly increase performance, but even without it, you should have no issues! [import]uid: 9968 topic_id: 9068 reply_id: 33082[/import]
2010 Macbook Pro w/ 4GB RAM here. Usually running Illustrator & Photoshop CS5 along with Corona and multiple Firefox instances all simultaneously with not a single issue. [import]uid: 31262 topic_id: 9068 reply_id: 33117[/import]
Well, looking at Activity Monitor, 100MB should be plenty for Corona
If you can afford it, I’d go at least 4GB of RAM b/c you’ll often have other (memory-hungry) apps running. [import]uid: 26 topic_id: 9068 reply_id: 33151[/import]
Just for your information, I’m running a 1.4 2gb Macbook Air with PS CS5, DW CS5, Corona Project Manager, Sprite Deck, xCode 4 and Safari running without and problems. Definitely recommend an Air for mobile coding and development!
