Nice

Out of interest can you share how warm it gets under load? Especially compared to a Macbook/Pro?

I’ve been quite curious about that.

Grats on the new machine  [import]uid: 52491 topic_id: 12918 reply_id: 47465[/import]

thanks peach
i spent most of the night setting it up downloading and transferring files and it never seemed to get hot me
I’ve never used a pro so I can’t compare [import]uid: 7911 topic_id: 12918 reply_id: 47475[/import]

I think the Air is sweet machine, I don’t own one but I’m getting one when/if they make a Pro model with a little higher specs and 15’ screen. Rumors says there could be one in the works but until then I’ll have to stick with my 2008 macbook pro 15’.

Let us know how it runs under high load like Peach said. Congrats to your awesome machine. [import]uid: 13560 topic_id: 12918 reply_id: 47478[/import]

I’ve always liked smaller machines
I went with the 13" cause of the higher resolution display
I plan on putting it though some heavy processing tonite so I’ll have some results later hopefully [import]uid: 7911 topic_id: 12918 reply_id: 47495[/import]

well been running it for about 5 hours straight for the pass hour ive had corona, ps, firefox, and mail running with xcode 4.1 downloading with the machine laying on a bed and its still super cool to the touch with a little warmer at the very rear hear a screenshot of the temps

I never had heating issue with my MB Air… even with prolonged usage… [import]uid: 71210 topic_id: 12918 reply_id: 47628[/import]

The Macbook Air stays surprisingly cool for a lot longer than the Macbook Pro, I have the 15" Pro and 11" Air and my Pro gets warm/hot at the slightest thought of doing anything demanding… I assume this is the big graphics card getting hot.

The Air on the other hand stays cool most of the time with it only ever getting hot when doing 3D work like rendering a large scene. - Yes you can do 3d work on the Air too.

Other than that the Air is a very cool customer!

Man, I’m really wanting to get a MacBook Air – I want the 11" model but the addition of the SD slot in the 13" will probably sway me. (I plan on using an external monitor, so screen size isn’t really an issue.)

Nice to hear first-hand reports of how it handles Corona. Unfortunately I still have to use a “different” development environment to work on Corona Project Manager, but at least half of my wondering has been put to rest.

This is good to know; I’d always thought they’d burn up. My old MacBook Pro (one of those dodgy ones where some were recalled) burned me once - really badly XD [import]uid: 52491 topic_id: 12918 reply_id: 47664[/import]

@CoronaProjectManagerGuy :slight_smile: I use 11" MB Air and 21" monitor to create screen real estate for Corona and Corona Project manager… and its a perfect setup… [import]uid: 71210 topic_id: 12918 reply_id: 47673[/import]
