Major Gotcha on Android maps - street view...

Not sure what, if anything, CL can do to help with this one but thought I should share for awareness for all.

If you use mapview in your app on the Android platform the map now includes Google’s additional clickable icons for POIs, shops, restaurants etc.

If you tap on one of these you get a nice info bubble with details of the POI and a nice x to close the bubble. So far so good. However, the info bubble has a nice, inviting photo that says tap me tap me… When you tap this image you are taken to Google Street View inside your mapview. All this is nice and in any other case I would say wow, my app users can see street view integrated in my app but there is one HUGE catch!!! There is no way that I can find to get from street view back to the regular map. Once you go in you are forever trapped until you restart the app.

This is a major bummer. Any thoughts and ideas on how to offer our app users a way back will be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Ok wait. Apparently there is a X on the upper right hand side of the street view and this takes you back to your original map. In my case it was being blocked by the status bar due to my poor positioning of the map at 0,0. This looks like a non-issue as long as you position your map better than I did!
