making my artwork work

I am having trouble getting my artwork to work right. I am using GIMP and the images have edges around them even with a transparent background. If I draw out an image that is round than the square edges of the drawing canvas are still with the image which gets in the way of other objects on the iphone simulator. I can move object on the simulator and there is a gap between the two objects where the drawing canvas is. I am using a transparent background but is there another way? I don’t have problems with edges around transparent backgrounds so you must not be preparing the images correctly. I can’t really give you any help beyond that because it depends on exactly what you are doing in GIMP, sorry. [import]uid: 12108 topic_id: 6800 reply_id: 23751[/import]

Tell me how you prepare your images than. I am using GIMP to draw some images of birds and they fly around the screen. Unless the image is square like the canvas than I get gaps between objects. I would appreciate any help. Thank you [import]uid: 17539 topic_id: 6800 reply_id: 23754[/import]

Well, I use a variety of tools mentioned in the “Essential apps” thread in New Users. The image editing tool I use is Photoshop, some of my images are assembled into sprite sheets using Texture Packer, and all of my images get optimized using ImageOptim.

ADDITION: wait I just noticed you typed “Unless the image is square like the canvas than I get gaps between objects.” That is a different problem than you described in your first post. I’m not sure what you’re getting at here, screenshots will help. [import]uid: 12108 topic_id: 6800 reply_id: 23761[/import]
