What is the best way to make a video to put on you tube of an iPhone app where accelerometer is the main interaction element?

Either purchase one of the remote apps from a developer here or just film yourself playing the game [import]uid: 10389 topic_id: 23373 reply_id: 93627[/import]
For just regular videos without accelerometer, I recommend a computer program called Fraps to record your game. If your filming it when someone is playing it, you better buy a nice camera.

If you’re using Mac I don’t think there is a version of fraps that runs on it - I could be mistaken?
Anyway, I’d use screenflick and Corona Remote if on Mac [import]uid: 52491 topic_id: 23373 reply_id: 93694[/import]
What I use on the Mac is ScreenFlow. Excellent product, but probably not what you’re looking for when it comes to accelerometer. [import]uid: 54776 topic_id: 23373 reply_id: 96108[/import]
Screenflow is about 99 dollars.
Check out Quick Time player (in Applications)
Just go to Start new Screen Recording.
You can do part of the screen, you can trim the recording at the end.

If you are going to record a screen recording on the simulator be sure to use PhoneFinger for a really cool effect. http://www.wonderwarp.com/phonefinger/

chandler767,
Thanks for the pointer to PhoneFinger. I’ll use this the next time I make a video. [import]uid: 67839 topic_id: 23373 reply_id: 97638[/import]
Chandler that is GREAT! Thanks for sharing [import]uid: 52491 topic_id: 23373 reply_id: 97645[/import]
I thought this was an April Fool at first.
I downloaded an tried it. Hey hey hey!
Looks a great idea.
It certainly shows how the use of a finger differs from using a mouse.
Mind you, there were a couple of niggles.
I couldn’t work out where the ‘click’ was going to happen reliably. You could argue thats the whole point, and so you can see how the finger differs, but the truth is, even with my fat fingers, I can operate a real iPad with more precision than I could use the onscreen finger in the simulator.
I guess thats because you get a feel for where your finger tip will touch, where in this app, you have a tendency to expect it to be the finger tip that does the work.
Secondly, when you zoom in and out in the simulator, the on screen finger won’t. (Of course not: its nothing to do with Corona)
But that will give a false idea of screen vs reality.

I’m glad I could help.
Don’t forget if you need to make the finger smaller or bigger to match the simulator you can adjust the size in the apps settings. You can also change it to a girls hand.
