mapView android support?

Quick question. It says here that mapView is only supported on iOS: http://developer.coronalabs.com/partner/mapview

is that true?

In the docs I didn’t find anything about that. But it tells you to add Internet Permission in to your build.settings on Android. So it does work? http://docs.coronalabs.com/api/library/native/newMapView.html

Yes, MapViews are supported on Android.  Including on Android devices that do not include the Google Maps app such as the Kindle Fire and Nook.  Give it a try via our sample app “Interface/MapView” that is included with the Corona Simulator.

The first link you’ve found is some incredibly old documentation that must be buried deep down in the bowels of our website, long forgotten.  A Google search must have somehow taken you there.  We’ll look into removing it.  Thanks for bringing this up.

Thanks for your reply!

prepare the maps, I’m coming
