MapView on SImulator

do you have any idea when the MapView function will be available on the Corona SDK simulator ?

We’re not sure if/when it will happen for Mac. Apple doesn’t provide MapKit for Mac. But is a 3rd party implementation based on WebView and uses Google Maps which we are investigating. It won’t behave exactly the same as iOS. Would this be useful?

Native widgets for Windows won’t be coming any time soon due to technical challenges/impossibilities that I’ve talked about elsewhere on the forums.

Thanks for the quick reply. WebView + Google Maps sounds like an original idea, as long as everything will behave the same as in the Application.

I guess the programming for the device itself isn´t to bad an alternative, since GPS functionality is best tried out directly on the field I suppose instead of on a static simulator.

I tried out MapView on my android 4.6 phone, but the map didn´t load on the device yet. I guess MapView on android will be out soon ?

Another function that might be interesting: a string or something to load the location info of pictures taken.
