MapView vs WebView + google

I was testing MapView and WebView + google. On my SGS3 MapView is damn slow and it is much better to use WebView. Am I doing something wrong or is this normal behaviour?

i notice the load time for mapView depends on the device. Faster devices loads much faster.

I’m not talking about loading but about smoothness in animations and delays.

I have the same problem with MapView on Samsung Galaxy S3 device build.

Weird thing is, as you start to scroll with two fingers and then release one, you are still scrolling but the animation then is fluid. Normal (one finger) scrolling is somehow lagging for no reason.
