Have you considered using LIME for corona?
For one of my projects I am using LIME it’s a platform game, side scrolling etc using lime.
In fact, there is even a “Making a platform game” tutorial that includes a d pad, buttons, jump, camera work etc.

Choco Run was (I believe) made with it. The platform tutorial seemed to be the basis of what he made for the game.
