Maximum image/background size

Hey, so i want to use this image as a background for a horizontal/vertical scrolling game and am wondering what the biggest size image i can use before it starts lagging up. The image basically acts as the sky so it would just be plain blue and all it would have on it is a few clouds. Would i be able to use like 5000px by 5000px image as a background, or would i have to use smaller ones and just repeat them?

Hey there,

No - that’s actually too large for any one image - I believe the limit is 2048px. So yes, you will want to use smaller ones :slight_smile:

Limit is 2048px by 2048px on newer devices, however older devices you should be thinking 1024px by 1024px. [import]uid: 52491 topic_id: 14739 reply_id: 57725[/import]
