Can anyone confirm it? I need to use a compressed format… [import]uid: 113117 topic_id: 27639 reply_id: 327639[/import]
Any information about this? I really need to compress my audio. I’ve already set the sample rate to 22kHz to minimize size, but it’s not enough. 11kHz is not an option.
Is it possible to change the bit speed? AAC-format is not working either.
One thing I’ve noticed is that it doesn’t matter what you type in the file format. You can type “test.cow” and get it to work anyway, except if you type .mp3 or .acc. [import]uid: 134882 topic_id: 27639 reply_id: 119192[/import]
I agree. It seems strange that this topic is not more discussed. On IOS Aif and caf might work for local usage, but if you want to send the data to a server, compression is a must.
Is there something we are missing? The documentation is quite brief regarding recording to different formats. [import]uid: 25729 topic_id: 27639 reply_id: 119203[/import]
Were you guys ever able to find out about this? I am having the same issue now and can’t find any way to get mp3 recording working on iOS? [import]uid: 169392 topic_id: 27639 reply_id: 133601[/import]
No, I am sorry to say. We did not ever get a working solution for this. I am still interested though.
I figure this might be a licensing issue… [import]uid: 25729 topic_id: 27639 reply_id: 133637[/import]
I’ll see what I can find out. [import]uid: 199310 topic_id: 27639 reply_id: 133670[/import]
That would be fantastic!
If I recall correctly we always ended up with large files (AIF or caf?), regardless of what format we tried to save it to.
The result was also that we were only able to save files up to ~20 seconds in length. [import]uid: 25729 topic_id: 27639 reply_id: 133672[/import]
It does not record in MP3 format.

Thanks Rob.
Might I suggest the docs are updated as they say it can record in mp3

It would have save a lot of time and effort [import]uid: 169392 topic_id: 27639 reply_id: 133769[/import]

Thank you for checking this out, Rob,
Any chance there are other formats that might be supported, ie that use a fair amount of compression) [import]uid: 25729 topic_id: 27639 reply_id: 133810[/import]
