Hey everyone, is there any minimum age to legally use Corona SDK ? I mean, like 13 or 18.
As far as I’m aware there isn’t a minimum age, and can’t see any reason why there would be one. I remember about 5 or 6(ish) years ago there was a young lad Robert Nay who was 14 (iirc) and produced a game with Corona which managed to knock Angry Birds off the top of the app charts.
Of course I am getting old and my memory is a little hazy so some details may be slightly out.
I doubt that Corona would have any reason to prevent users below a certain age from using their product, if anything I imagine they’d promote it as a great way to learn coding at a young age.
Apple or Google Play probably have rules about releasing apps on their stores. I would guess you have to be 18, but I haven’t looked into that so I’m not sure.
When I was under 18 Apple was not to happy with me and threatened to shut down my developer account. I had to put it under my dads account.
I never ran into problems on android, i don’t think they care as much as apple. If you become big (money wise) it is probably a good idea to put everything under you parent(s) or guardian(s) account to avoid problems with Apple, Google, and possibly your government (in the USA you can only make so much without dealing with taxes and stuff) if you are under 18.
If you are lucky and start making real money, you probably want to set up an LLC and I bet you can’t do that at 13.
