Missing 64-bit support HELP

Hi Everyone…

What is the 64-bit support?

Starting February 1 2015, new iOS apps uploaded to the App store must include 64-bit support and build with the iOS 8 SK…

the standard architecture…

to build with 32 and 64 bit…

I think is too much, my head can only handle so much at a time…

Now what do I do in Corona… am I going to be able to use Corona SKD or not?

I just don’t know how you guys developers out there can handle all this…

My most deepest and greatest respect for all of you…

Please help me Rob…

Hello @helloworld2013d,

Yes, we are fully aware of this deadline and we’re taking the proper steps toward it. I wouldn’t worry too much… there are already enough variables to be concerned with in the realm of app development.

Brent

To add to what Brent said.  This is just a warning. Running on Apple’s iOS based devices is critical to our product.  We will always work hard to make all required deadlines from Apple (and Google as well).

Rob

I read in another forum in Corona, that this will be ONLY for pro developers?

and also what is going to happen with the apps that we already have?

do we have to change all of those too?

For your apps you already have in the store, they will be fine.  However if you update them, you will need to do so with a 64 bit compatible build.

This will first come out as a Daily Build that only Pro and Enterprise subscribers can access.  Then we will follow up with a new public build for Starter and Basic subscribers at some point after that.  If everything goes well this deadline should be a non-issue for you.

Rob

Thanks Rob… As soon as I start making enough money I will become Pro… I like Corona a lot

and of course all the help and support I get from you guys is great!

Thanks

Hello guys,

Could you tell us what is the ETA for Corona Enterprise adding the 64bit support?

What convenient timing… Walter just published a blog post on the subject:

Exactly what I was looking for, thank you!

Is there an update from Corona on this? It’s Feb 2nd and there is no public build for 64 bit support. I have an app ready to go and waiting on this!

We released a “Beta” build last week that provided 64 bit support to Starter and Basic accounts as well as catches everyone up to the current daily build list.  This is called “beta” because we did not put it through the rigorous testing that we do for public releases prior to  their release.

Feel free to use the download link in the blog post to get the version that will work for you.

Just a reminder, this only affects new apps to the store, not updates.  Updates have to be 64 bit later in the summer.

Rob

Thank you Rob. I didn’t know of the blog post you linked.
