Missing required icon file: 76x76 152x152 and 120x120

Hi there I am trying to upload my new version of my app to itunes with application loader.

Everything goes fine until it finishes uploading then i get an email saying there are missing icon files for sizes 76, 120 and 152 but they are definitely there and do not have alpha channels etc. I have even used icons straight from a new corona sample project with the same errors.

I have implemented the new images.xcassettes folder but this does not change anything.

I am using Xcode 8 and osx el capitan 10.11.6. Maybe i have to upgrade to sierra and xcode 9 but I really don’t want to do this if it is not necessary!

Please help someone!

Thanks!

If you’re using Xcode 8, you have to be using a version of Corona that builds for iOS 9. In that case, you can use the old style build.settings based Icon files.  We have made quite a few fixes in daily builds since the last public build, I would recommend going with Xcode 9 and the latest daily build.

Hi Rob, thanks for reply. If I use xcode 8 and a previous version of corona that will target ios9 then will users be unable to use my app on ios10 and ios11? Or does it just mean that the app is optimised for ios9 but will still work on higher ios’ s just with a chance of problems? Thanks for your help!

Sorry, I mistyped.  If you are using Xcode 8, then you need a version of Corona that will target iOS 10. You can run on any device going back to iOS 8.

Now as far as iOS 11 goes. Apple’s submission process seems to be looking for some iOS 11 features even though they should still be accepting valid iOS 10 submissions. iOS 10 apps should run on iOS 11, it just won’t have any iOS 11 features.

So you might be able to keep using Xcode 8 and submit, but if you get a rejection over icons and such, you will need to update to Xcode 9 and follow the new icon procedures.

Makes sense. Thanks Rob!
