Hi guys!
I’m trying to modify the SimplePool sample game in the Corona Samples. What I’d like to do is draw a trajectory of the ball.
I’ve rotated by 180 degrees the line that gets drawn when you hit the ball, now it appears “in front” of the ball rather than “behind” it. But I’d like to try and draw the trajectory of the ball as it hits the sides or other balls, i.e. calculate it’s movement before it’s hit. And I 'm kind of stuck with this, I don’t have any idea.
I realize that to calculate that trajectory hitting other balls is a bit on the far side
with the balls being round and rather harder to predict their behaviour than in the case of a plan surface like the sides, but the hit with the sides is obviously doable.
Anybody have any idea how to do this? And maybe guide me a bit through the code? I’m new with Corona and still learning the slopes.
Thank you very much! [import]uid: 13720 topic_id: 5436 reply_id: 305436[/import]
I’m still trying to figure this out, to no avail yet… Nobody has any idea?
There must be a way to check if a “display.newLine” object intersects a physics body… And if I can do this, then the question of “reflecting” the line back at the same angle is just based on geometry (am I right… or is that gonna pose problems too…? :D). But how to check the intersection with a physics object? [import]uid: 13720 topic_id: 5436 reply_id: 18518[/import]
