I have been experimenting with different methods of monetization with my previous apps… ads/no ads versions, free app with ads with in-app purchase to remove ads, etc.
For my next app, which will be a retro arcade shooter, I was thinking of just charging up front… say $0.99 or $1.99. I don’t think this app is a good candidate for pushing ads.
Has anyone released a paid app, and what are your experiences? How to do get someone to pay for an app without trying it out first? Do people really buy an app without a trial version? With my other apps, users have the option to purchase the full version, which removes the ads and gives them a little extra stuff, but like I said, I don’t think this app is a good candidate for this method.
